The High day ritual was for Samhain. I performed the Ritual following the Core Order of Ritual alone using my home shrine. It went well; it was the first ritual I performed in many years. For offerings, I gathered cornmeal, olive oil, incense, silver for the well, and ale. The Patrons of the Ritual were Odin and Hel, and the gatekeeper was Heimdall. For things that could have gone better, I need to practice pronouncing the Germanic Names as this ritual followed my Norse Path. I will also need to find a better alternative for silver for the well, as using a quarter does not feel like a good offering to me. During the Ritual, I felt the energy rise within me, like a peaceful yet energetic feeling at the same time. The omens that were drawn were Pethro for the ancestors, Eihwaz for the land Wrights, an Gebo for the Gods.
Even though I did not feel any individual deity, spirits, or powers during this ritual. I feel they are always around me as I go about. As we get older, our loved ones pass away. This is the time to remember them, as the veil between the world is at its thinnest. I feel they can communicate easier with us at this during this period of the year.
